In the Abacus Paris program, learners use an abacus—a calculating tool consisting of rods and beads—to perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately.Different bead colors represent different units (units, tens, hundreds, etc.), making it easier to visualize numbers clearly.
Using this technique, practitioners can perform all types of mathematical operations, including complex ones such as multiplication, division, and square roots, in just a few seconds—without the need for a calculator or computer.
While this method is primarily used in Asia, it is also taught in some schools and communities around the world as a tool to enhance the speed and accuracy of mental calculations.
