ABACUS PARIS is a cutting-edge educational program where young learners start by using an Asian abacus to perform calculations and swiftly progress to doing mental math without the tool.
In the Abacus Paris program, learners use an abacus—a calculating tool consisting of rods and beads—to perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately.Different bead colors represent different units (units, tens, hundreds, etc.), making it easier to visualize numbers clearly.
Using this technique, practitioners can perform all types of mathematical operations, including complex ones such as multiplication, division, and square roots, in just a few seconds—without the need for a calculator or computer.
While this method is primarily used in Asia, it is also taught in some schools and communities around the world as a tool to enhance the speed and accuracy of mental calculations.
The goal of the program is to develop the child's cognitive abilities.

The child’s intrinsic motivation peaks, and peer recognition boosts their self-confidence
By the end of the third year, the child knows how to calculate decimals and negative numbers
The child’s attention improves, enabling them to grasp several three-digit combinations on the abacus in just 0.1 seconds, and perform mental addition and subtraction with up to ten terms while holding a conversation without getting distracted.
The student is more focused, solving fifty consecutive problems without difficulty or apprehension, without perceiving the task as long or challenging
The child can concentrate on a task for at least 15 minutes

The program opened to French students in September 2023, and we’ve already received great feedback!
«Olivia began her Abacus classes in September 2023. Since then, she has been more focused on her assigned tasks, shows greater interest in her work, and finds that her efforts yield satisfying results. The game-like math exercises help Olivia perform mental calculations quickly, and she manages to complete her homework swiftly and efficiently. Her school results are excellent, and Olivia is praised for the accuracy of her work. It even seems that her logical thinking has improved. We will definitely continue with the Abacus sessions next year.»

«Myriam discovered the abacus during a summer camp! After that, she wanted to continue with the weekly classes. After 7 months of using this method, Myriam is much more comfortable with mental math. We’ve noticed better concentration on schoolwork and Lego-style constructions, she follows instructions more closely, and she’s becoming more patient. Overall, our daughter loves the classes, and the method suits her perfectly. I wholeheartedly recommend this method to all parents! »
